Drive over the Himalayas by way of the
incredible Arniko Highway that connects Kathmandu with Lhasa.
Enjoy fabulous mountain scenery enroute, visit mystical Buddhist
monasteries of Tashilungpo at Shigatse, the Kumbum Stupa at
Gyantse, and drive past the beautiful Turquoise lake. In Lhasa
visit the famous Potala and Norbulinkha palaces, the great
Drepung Monastery and walk through the bustling Barkor Bazaar
before flying back to Kathmandu (or onward to China). A choice

Day 01 :
Kathmandu (1300m)–Zhangmu
(2500m) Nylam (3700m) :123km|156km
Early morning scenic drive to Kodari (Nepal–Tibet Boarder)
through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary
custom formalities at Nepalese immigration, an hour adventures
uphill drive by truck (normally) 2 hour walk uphill (incase of
landslide) to Chinese immigration; check- in to Hotel or
continue drive to Nylam. Over night at Hotel. |
Day 02 :
Zhangmu\ Nylam- Tingri (4300M)\Lahtse (4350M):

Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with the
typical view of Tibetan landscape offering sheer feeling of
standing on the roof of the world crossing over Lalungla (5050M)
from where weather permitting, breathtaking panaroma of
beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt. Cho Oyu (8201M) & Mt.
Xishapagma (8012M) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan
plateau. From Tingri, one can enjoy the magnificence of Mt.
Everest (8848M). Over night at Hotel. |
Day 03 :
Tingri \Lhatse - Xigatse (3900M): 244KM
Continue scenic drive crossing over Gyatchu La (5220M), the
Highest passes en-route to Lhasa via Lhatse from where a road to
the MT. Kailash bifurcates to the west. Over night at Hotel. |
Day 04 :
Xigatse- Gyantse (3950M):90KM
Morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu Monastery.
Drive to Gyantse and Visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Phalkor
Monastry. Over night at hotel. |
Day 05 :
Gyantse- Lhasa (3650M):261KM
Full day picturesque drive crossing over karola (5010M), Kambala
(4794M), colourful Yamdrok Lake and the Tibetan lifeline river
Brahma Putra (Yarlung Tsangpo). Over night at Hotel. |
Day 06-07 :
In Lhasa
Two full days sightseeing tour to Lhasa including Jokhang
Temple, Bazar, Potala Palace Drepung & Sera Monasteries. Over
night at hotel. |
Day 08 :
Lhasa-Kathmandu
Early morning drive to Gonggar Airport for departure flight to
Kathmandu or your onward destination. |
